What are the conventions of Music Video?
- Typically 3-4 mins long
- Visuals reflect lyrics-usually
- Some music videos are abstract/ others are conceptual
- Music Videos typically focus on the "star","authorage (distinctive visual style e.g Lady Gaga and her wacky outfits), "artist"
- Music Videos tend to have a lot of angles with different representation e.g. low angle = High status
- Mise-en-scene varies depending on the music video genre; Sometimes they can be aspirational to the audience e.g. Chris Brown wearing the latest Jordans trainers and young youths wanting to be like him.
- Music video tend to have a lot of fast cutting which is sync to the beat of the song.
- Lip Sync- Performance- Dancing

- Camera pan through the video
- Beyonce is framed center - She had all the screen time
- Fades & Transitions - The lighting was used to portray the fades and transition.
- Mainly made up of wide shots
- Mise-en-scene -Themed Costume- all three women are dressed in black however the artist's (Beyonce) clothing is slightly different making her stand out more. Also she is wearing a gold glove which connotes the lyrics of the song as she repeatedly refers back to it by pointing at it.

- Various of shot angle and camera movements; a lot of close ups, bird's eye view
- Mise-en-scene- Themed 60's costumes i.e. classic white gloss knee high boots, big pony tail hair, Bikes etc. Two different persona's illustrated in the music video; Ariana- cute/ sexy & Iggy - fierce & sexy

- Male gazed- Both artist featuring in the music video are dressed provocatively/ subtly sexualised.
